Ken Wirt, vice president of consumer marketing at Cisco, said on Thursday that the company planned to unveil new set-top boxes and home-networking devices at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas beginning Jan. 7.

Cisco is the top U.S. maker of routers, which direct Internet traffic, and its main customers are phone and cable companies. In recent years, it has expanded into the consumer market, acquiring home router maker Linksys and set-top box maker Scientific-Atlanta.
